CREDO VOCAL ENSEMBLE - BIO
Credo Vocal Ensemble is an award-winning SATB chamber choir based in Trim, Co. Meath. The choir specialises in A Capella music of all genres from sacred to contemporary, secular to modern.
Highlights from the past include a performance at the “Night of Choirs” in Budapest and Credo were announced as the winners of the large ensemble category at the Irish International A Capella competition in Dublin in 2018.
Credo consists of local singers of a good standard who rehearse on a Tuesday evening in Trim. Credo normally holds a couple of concerts each year, one in the early Summer and another before Christmas.
OUR MUSICAL DIRECTOR
Judit Máté is a Hungarian-born organist, church musician and choral conductor living in Ireland since 2008. Judit grew up studying music through the Kodály method. She sang in the choir of Ják Abbey Church since the age of eight and started learning to play the organ at the age of fourteen. Judit gained her BA degree in Music Education and Church Music in 2006 in Hungary. Between 2005 and 2008 she had been the conductor of Stella Maris Female Chamber Choir. Judit completed her Master’s Degree in Organ Performance in 2016 at TU Conservatoire, Dublin. Since 2006 Judit has played many organ recitals in Hungary, France and in Ireland. She has been the organist and musical director of St Jude the Apostle Church, Templeogue since 2010 and of Church of the Divine Word, Rathfarnham since 2014. In 2011 she founded the St Jude’s Chamber Orchestra and Concert Choir. This project-based group has premiered in Ireland various works by Hungarian composers and has performed works by Vivaldi, Pergolesi, Mozart and Rheinberger.
